There’s no doubt that 2020 was a strange and challenging year. I can’t believe it’s December and I’m writing a year-end review. Isn’t it still March?
Many of us spent the year adjusting to the “new normal.” Those of us who could began to work from home. Our children learned what Zoom™ software is. We mastered drive-by birthdays and baby showers. Sales of cardboard cutout fans skyrocketed. And many of us found out what it means to take gatherings with friends and family for granted.
The effects of 2020 are likely to stay with us well into 2021. Crestron has continued to respond to the needs of the industry and support our customers with new products that support the new work from anywhere workforce.
This year alone, we released more than 215 new products. Let’s take a look back at some of our most impactful ones…
70 Series Touch Screens
Almost a decade in the making, these new touch screens are just cool! Not only are they beautifully designed and sleek, but they are also powerful devices with faster processing and sharper screen resolution. Wall mount and tabletop models provide options for any enterprise or residential space.
Crestron Flex MX
The M-Series got a major upgrade this year with the Crestron Flex MX. It delivers both a native, one-touch join experience for Microsoft Teams® or Zoom Rooms™ software and BYOD in the same unit. Never stress about finding the “right room” again! The audio quality on the MX is truly impressive. The 20' range ensures everyone in the room is heard clearly.
Crestron HomeTime
Launched in late spring, Crestron HomeTime™ conferencing system is the first fully integrated conferencing solution designed to support the home office. Instead of crowding around a laptop, Crestron HomeTime allows people to host and join Zoom meetings right from their TV.
DM-NVX-E760
The most trusted content distribution platform expanded its reach this fall. The DM-NVX-E760 encoder is the first and only HDBaseT® certified AV-over-IP bridging technology, enabling you to send any content anywhere. With full interoperability with the DM NVX® product ecosystem and competitive HDBaseT systems, it’s the most flexible, secure, and scalable platform on the market.
Crestron Flex MM
This small but mighty device was created for small workspaces both in corporate and home offices. Like all Crestron Flex models, it offers people a native Microsoft Teams or Zoom experience, along with a BYOD option. Don’t let the smaller footprint fool you; the audio quality of this device is just as impressive as the larger M-Series.
Home Conferencing from Crestron
We brought even more professional-quality products into the home with Home Conferencing from Crestron, from a tabletop audio solution to behind-the-TV presentation systems. Home Conferencing can be integrated with a full Crestron Home™ system or operate as a complete standalone solution.
Microsoft Teams Scheduling Panel
These newly announced panels combine our 70-Series touch screens with the power of Microsoft Teams. Beyond just scheduling a room, these panels gather data on capacity, space utilization, and room cleanliness to enable optimization of spaces and help increase productivity.
MC4-R Control System
In early 2020, we doubled down on our residential offerings with the release of the MC4-R. This 4-Series™ control system expanded the reach of Crestron Home into small and midsize home and MDU projects, providing a secure, high-performance, and cost-effective control system.
Crestron One
Touchless technology has become a hot topic for companies looking to bring employees back to the office. The Crestron One™ app allows people to control a conference room safely and securely from their own personal mobile device. They can book rooms, present, control lighting and more, all without touching shared buttons.
Crestron Flex R-Series
This mobile Unified Communications system offers customers a level of video conferencing flexibility never seen before. It gives teams the ability to quickly and easily work collaboratively wherever they meet, from manufacturing floors to cafeterias and classrooms. Just roll it in, plug it in, and you’re good to go.
2020 taught us a lot about change and adaptability, both in our personal lives and the workplace. As we look forward to the new year, I look forward to the continued evolution of the market and our industry, as well as the innovations to come from Crestron in 2021 and beyond. Happy and Healthy New Year!
