In the space of a light switch, the TPMC-3SMD Designer Touch Screen affords total control over audio, video, lighting, climate, and other systems. Its clean, contoured appearance makes an elegant statement in any custom home or corporate environment. High-tech good looks underline its power for simplifying everyday tasks and functions throughout any facility, all in a very affordable device that's versatile and easy to install.

Color Touch Screen

Fully custom functionality is afforded through a brilliant 2.8" touch screen, displaying 16-bit color graphics and video. Dynamic graphics and text capabilities enable the display of all kinds of useful data and alluring eye candy—from AV controls and icons—to room temperature and lighting levels—to photos and video. You can even view and control what's playing on your media server or Internet radio tuner complete with metadata and cover art. Animated objects, multi-mode buttons, PNG translucency, and page transition effects enhance the palette for creating interactive GUIs that are both eye-catching and easy to use.

Tactile Pushbuttons

To complement its color touch screen, the TPMC-3SMD includes physical pushbuttons for quick access to commonly used functions. Below the screen are up/down buttons that can be assigned for adjusting audio system volume, scrolling through media titles and radio/TV channels, or raising/lowering the room temperature and lighting levels. In addition, "Mute" and "Home" buttons are provided for muting the audio system and returning the touch screen to the main page. Two backlit "hard key" buttons are also included at the upper corners of the TPMC-3SMD, labeled for power control and lighting functions. These may be assigned to access relevant control pages on the touch screen, or to control AV system power and room lighting with a single press.

All pushbuttons on the TPMC-3SMD are fully programmable for any custom functionality as part of a complete Crestron control system. The two hard key buttons feature translucent button caps with white LED backlighting. The backlighting is fully dimmable, either globally or individually. Alternately, each button LED can be programmed to provide discrete feedback for clear indication of each button's on/off status.

Streaming Video

Onboard streaming video capability makes it possible to view security cameras and other video sources over the network right on the touch screen. Native support for the motion-JPEG streaming format allows the TPMC-3SMD to display live video images from Web cameras and servers such as the CEN-NVS200 Network Video Streamer^[1].

Single-Wire Connectivity

A simple Ethernet LAN connection is all that is required to wire the TPMC-3SMD, containing all control, video, and power signals within a single wire.

Power over Ethernet

Using PoE technology, the TPMC-3SMD gets its operating power right through the LAN wiring. PoE (Power over Ethernet) eliminates the need for a local power supply or any dedicated power wiring. A PoE Injector (PWE-4803RU^[1]) simply connects inline with the LAN cable at any convenient location. Crestron PoE switches (CEN-SW-POE-5, CEN-SWPOE-16, or CEN-SWPOE-24^[1]) may also be used to provide a total networking solution with built-in PoE.

Simple Wall Box Mounting

The TPMC-3SMD mounts directly to a single-gang electrical box or European/UK electrical box, requiring just 1/2-inch mounting depth while protruding just over 1/2-inch from the wall surface for a clean, low-profile appearance.
